The
Annual Community Litter Clean-Ups
& Fundraiser Opportunities for Mission
Non-Profits
With
the encouragement and financial support
of The District of Mission and as a part
of our on-going Anti-Litter Campaign, to
educate and raise awareness to the
litter problems in our city, Mission
Adopt-A-Block invites all Mission
non-profits to participate in our
Annual Spring & Fall Clean-Up
events. Both events entail the
acceptance of eight (8) non-profit
groups to participate in a community
wide litter clean-up for the
remuneration of $250 upon
completion of assigned route.
Participating groups are responsible for
the cleaning up of litter on public
walkways, curbs, public green spaces,
ditches, etc. on their assigned route,
while Mission Adopt-A-Block supplies
litter control equipment and oversees
the removal of the collected “litter”
garbage bags.
These
community litter clean-up events are a
great opportunity for Mission non-profit
organizations to raise funds to support
their program and all Mission
non-profits groups are welcome to apply
to be both Spring & Fall Clean-Up
participants to receive these funds.
What is more, involvement in a community
litter clean-up is an excellent
opportunity to cultivate environmental
social responsibility and to participate
in a very rewarding community project
that benefits all citizens and aspects
of Mission.
The Annual Spring Clean-Up runs
over four(4) Saturdays in April & May.
The Annual Fall Clean-Up runs
over four(4) Saturdays in September &
October.
Interested group applicants must
complete an application form and submit
to Adopt-A-Block before deadline.

non-profit group can become involved in

Earth Day, April 22
As a part of paying
respect and honoring the
celebration of Earth
Day, Mission
Adopt-A-Block hosts a
community
Litter Clean-Up
in a selected littered
hot spot each Earth Day.
Volunteers
and community groups are
invited to join in the
participation of this
important calendar
event, as we commit to
do our part to keep the
environment healthy and
beautiful.
Mission
Adopt-A-Block encourages
Mission residents to pay
respect to
Earth Day
and our environment by
taking a few moments on
this day (and all year
long) to clean the
litter from your own
block, and area
surrounding your home
(or work) and thereby
being a part of our
on-going campaign to “Keep
Mission Litter Free!”

paper or call our office
